Privacy Policy

Last updated 24 August 2026

Micron is a daily puzzle game. This policy describes exactly what it sends, where it goes and why. It is written against the source code, not against an intention — everything listed here can be found in lib/net/board_client.dart and lib/analytics/.

What Micron sends

Micron sends data to one server we operate (micron.launchtrust.co, also reachable as micron-board.erekstudio.workers.dev — one server, two names). Scores and groups are sent when you finish a round or use a friend group; the measurement described further down is sent when the app opens, so that "did anyone come back" can be answered at all.

DataWhy
A random install identifier — 18 hex characters generated on your device the first time the app opensSo the leaderboard can keep one entry per player per day, and so you can be recognised inside your own groups. It is not your Apple ID, your advertising ID, or anything issued by your phone. Deleting the app destroys it.
The handle you typeIt is what other players see on a board. Choose anything; it does not have to be your name.
Your daily score and its seven letter gradesThe thing being ranked.
Whether you chose to appear on the global boardIf you keep a score private it is not shown to anyone outside your groups.
Group codes and group names, if you create or join oneTo show your group its own board.

Measurement and crash reporting

Micron measures how the game is used, so that a version that crashes on a particular phone or a screen everyone abandons can be found and fixed. Two systems do this and neither of them records who you are.

WhatWhat it receives
Our own server (the same one as above)The random install identifier, the day, your platform, app version and language, and counts of things that happened — rounds started and finished, ads offered and shown, the subscription screen opened. Counts are stored added together, with no identifier attached to them, so they cannot be turned back into one person's session.
Google Firebase — Analytics and CrashlyticsAn app instance identifier generated by Google, the same event names as above, coarse device and country information, and — if the app crashes — the crash itself with the device model and OS version. Data is handled under Firebase's privacy terms.

None of this is used to advertise to you, and none of it is combined with the advertising identifier.

What Micron does not collect

No name, no email address, no phone number, no precise location, no contacts, no photos, no microphone, no camera, no address book, no account of any kind. There is no sign-up, and nothing you type anywhere in the app other than your handle and a group name is ever sent.

Advertising

Micron is free and shows ads through Google AdMob. It may collect and use data as described in Google's privacy policy and by Google's advertising partners.

Where the law requires it — the EEA, the UK and Switzerland — you are asked for consent before any personalised advertising, through Google's own consent form. You can reopen that form at any time from “What am I looking at?” → Ad privacy options inside the app. On iOS you are also asked separately by the system whether Micron may track you across other companies' apps and websites; if you decline, the ads you see are non-personalised.

Who can see your score

How long it is kept

Scores are kept so that all-time boards keep working. Group membership is kept until you leave; a group with no members left is deleted automatically. You can have everything tied to your install identifier erased by writing to the address below — include the handle you used so we can find it.

Children

Micron is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect anything from them.

Where the data is

The leaderboard and the counters run on Cloudflare Workers and Cloudflare D1, which store and process that data on Cloudflare's infrastructure. Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics data is stored and processed by Google, which may transfer it outside your country under its own terms.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.

Deleting your data

Open Micron, go to About, copy your player code, and paste it at mustafasalimerek-bit.github.io/micron-legal/delete.html. Every score, the handle attached to it, every group membership and every measurement row under that code are erased on the spot, and a group left with no members goes with them. The aggregate counters described above hold no identifier, so there is nothing in them to erase. If you have already uninstalled and no longer have the code, write to us instead and say which handle was yours.
